Overlapping Memories

I'll be exhibiting six new prints in Overlapping Memories which opens 2.10.12 at SPACE in Pittsburgh and 2.25.12 at Quart Jove in Valencia, Spain. The exhibit co-curated by Carolina Loyola-Garcia, Ima Pico and Christina Ghetti  explores concepts of memory & introspection through the contemporary use of collage and digital media.
Over the past month I developed a new series of images based on childhood memories & associations with pop culture images, icons and historic events of the 1970′s.

Picnic: Pop-Folk Contemporary Illustration

Picnic: Pop-Folk Contemporary Illustration
Designed by Retina y Retinette/ Published in 2011 by Promopress, Barcelona Spain
Hardcover: 272 pages

A visual celebration of retro illustration and modernist graphic design reinvented by 45 international artists. Picnic recalls the traditional, more artisanal styles of iconic graphic designers such as Saul Bass and Friz Freleng and showcases a stunning presentation of artwork featuring silkscreen printing, hand lettering, collage, and typography with a contemporary twist.

This refreshing work recalls the golden age of graphic design in the 50s and 60s, while showcasing the work of a new generation of designers using hand-made and organic design techniques to create and inspire their illustration. Picnic on Tumblr.
